Space-Kudu re-edit series: Synthi & Gert

For the time being, here is a little treat that was already available on Facebook!
One of mine all time favourite songs, made by the mighty Chris Evans in 1978.
Some pure robot dancing for you all. Now extended to the max!

Enjoy!!!!!!!

After hearing your amazing re-edit of Synthi & Gert, I spent months tracking down a rip of the single and I finally got it last week! Many thanks for turning me onto this song, its become one of my all time favourites as well...as soon as I hear those words "He's the ghostman" a big smile erupts on my face!
Thought about having a go at "Sister Susie's Synthesizer"? Thats so deliriously bonkers! Wicked vocoder action and lyrics as surreal as Ghostman, plus those synth sounds!

Speaking of the god-like Chris Evans Ironside, ever thought of re-editing a track off the 1979 'Electric Overdrive' album? Some amazing tracks on it as I am sure you know...the Chris Evans Ironside album I have been hunting for is the 1980 Astral Sounds album 'Space Drive', heard a couple of tracks on Youtube and they were jawdroppingly cool.

Hi Saucer People,

The Synthi & Gert 7" is amazing! Can't believe they made it more than 30 years ago....They are the real protohouse!
Too bad they didnt published any more tracks.
I've heard the Overdrive album years ago, but wasn't all that impressed by it. Perhaps I should do another listening. I might change my mind.
I haven't heard the Space Drive album, but will check it out and let you know.

Cheers

Hey Space-Kudu

I have joined a blog called Overfitting Disco which posts the kind of tracks that we both seem to love!

I was about to post the 2 tracks off Synthi & Gert's 7 Inch (finally tracked it down) and it would be wonderful if I could post your re-edit along with it...if that works ok I would like to do it with a few of your edits and place them with the original...of course I would link back to this blog etc (thinking the Soft Machine edit next!)

I would really like for more people to check out what you do as I think it blows 90% of other remixed/re-edited tracks out of the water!

ps> if you need a rip of Chris Evan's Overdrive album let me know, still have not tracked down the Astral Sounds 'Space Drive' album but hopefully will find it soon!

Hello Saucer People,

Jussi, who also contributes to Overfitted Disco, is a friend of mine. He sends me some tracks from time to time to moderate!

Thanks for the kind words! Ofcourse you can post some of my re-edits. Just mention that they are for listening purposes only. Otherwise the lawyers are knocking at my door again.

I actually have the Overdrive lp on my computer, but thanks anyway.
Lately I have been digging up/buying a lot of tracks/lp's. I still have to digitalize them and than I will make some new re-edits.

Cheers!!!

Excellent! I will make the Synthi & Gert tracks with your re-edit my next post on Overfitting Disco!

Of course I will add it is for listening purposes only, like you say, best to keep under the radar of the copyright police!

Yeah, Jussi is one hell of a cool dude and posts the most amazing material...speaking of amazing material you shoud check out Rene Roussel "Rubriques" album from 1980, I have posted a few tracks of it and the link to the full album in 320 is in the comments section:

Truly amazing album,, parts of it sound like Chicago house & Detroit techno and early nineties ambient music except it was recorded in 1980, definitely some killer edits to be had!
