Peter Richard - Fly away (Space-Kudu's chill re-edit)

It must be winter outside cause the last two re-edits I made have this nice chilled slo-disco feel. This one from Peter Richard is no exception. Made in 1983 and available on his album 'Frozen Red'. His biggest hits are 'Walking in the neon' and 'For you, only for you', two great italo tracks. But 'Fly away' is more a great piece of balearic pop from the late 80's than italo. The Space-Kudu re-edit made it into a longer trip with only a few vocals at the second part of the song, that way the song is more relaxed and chilled.

The always lovely Phil Collins shows his international peace-sign to us! Anyway, one day I was in the car and the original version of 'That's All' came on the radio. Immediately I thougth this has to be re-edited. So here it is...one great balearic cosmic disco version of Genesis. Just layers and layers of the original packed together to make the beat heavier at some points in the song. Also a lot of cutting and pasting cause Phil wouldn't just shut up singing. But not to worry he still does! Personally I think this re-edit has the same appeal as the Dolly Parton one I did before!

Uber cool Anna Dobiey made some great new wave tracks, like the cover of David Bowie's Ashes to Ashes. Here we have a track from 1980 that has more a balearic feel to it. Slow rock/cosmic disco whatever you call it, it's great! The re-edit shuffles around the complete song so that it becomes more balearic than it used to be. Nice German lyrics for by the pool! Oh the screams have been cut out....we don't want to be disturbed while dreaming!

A nice slice of East European disco, well at least I think, cause I do not know which language they speak. Originally this song has a very annoying DJ talking on top of the complete song. Luckily I had two copies of the song, so that I could make one complete song again, without the DJ talking. I didn't make a very long re-edit this time. Just a very nice complete short song.

It's nice, it's sleazy and it's very disco!

The world famous Lalo Schifrin doesn't need an introduction. Lucky for us he also did some great disco versions of movie soundtracks from the 70's and 80's. One of them is the soundtrack from the horrorflick The Amityville Horror. The original is very creepy until the funk comes in and it all turns into one big Saint Tropez beachparty set in 1979. A martini in one hand and Alain delon in the other. The Space-Kudu re-edit turns the song back into horror! No funk, no jolly good time! Leaving us with just a very scary track!

A favourite to a lot of space-disco lovers is I Signori Della Galassia (Men from the galaxy). This Italian band made the album called Iceman in 1979. The title track of this album is one nice piece of space-disco mixed with italo-disco. Í love the song until they start singing. Than you can hear the italo coming up and that's not really my cup of tea. So I turned the song upside down and inside out. What came out is, according to myself, one great space-disco ball of fire! Be warned, this re-edit is also a bit spooky!

One of mine little disco pleasures is this song from Expo. It was made in 1977 and has this spooky little vibe to it. Originally the song has a very happy underlining to it, but that has been cut out in the re-edit. Well you can hear it a little bit at the end of the re-edit. Couldn't resist to leave you without a finishing touch. The beats have been made heavier, cut and looped, to give the song a lot more drive to it. This is spooky disco with some nice choir vocals to it.

The Hunters - Jungle Man [Space-Kudu re-edit]

One of my favourite tracks is 'Jungle man' by the Belgium band called The Hunters from 1979. Only released on 7 inch and has two short tracks; one vocal and one instrumental version. I cut 'n pasted the two tracks together to make one long song. Which it certainly deserves. The lyrics are very appropriate to today. Talking about a man who leaves all the modern responsibilities behind and goes to live in the jungle. They even talk about income taxes! Never heard that on a disco song! And thanks to Jussi K. for giving me the mp3 of the original song. I'm still looking for the vinyl...so hard to get!

A few posts ago I posted the re-edit I did for the main track of this disco soundtrack. Now it's time for another fab track from this Prom Night soundtrack from 1980. The movie stars Jamie Lee Curtis, but it's the music score that is the winner here! 'Love me till I die' is a very short but lovely track, so the re-edit makes it longer and more fun. Nice lyrics too!!!

The original is a totally weird track from 1981. Which starts off with classical rock, than turns into some sort of proto-house and than goes to disco-rock. But that's not all cause than it does all those styles over again. All within 3 or 4 minutes. Pretty hard to re-edit. But I managed to do it. Vic pointed me to this track. Hard to find little 7" from Italy and made in 1980. The original is very expensive to get, according to Ebay. But no worries...Here it is in the Space-Kudu re-edit. Most of the annoying lyrics have been taken out of this version. What's left is one funky cosmic disco track with spacey guitars. Can be put in the same corner as Cerrone's "Phonic" track. Which also has been modified by Space-Kudu here on this blog.

Marvin Gaye's classic 'Inner city blues' gets the Space-Kudu re-edit treatment. The re-edit turns out very nice, if I say so myself. A very nice relaxing cosmic disco bassline with hints of Marvin Gaye's scatting and singing. Don't expect a sing-a-long re-edit, though! It's the dub version of the Space-Kudu re-edit. Respect to the song and to the man!

I almost forgot to post this true classic! I already posted it before but in low quality. Now it is available at 320 kbps. Cashmere is a Dutch rock/pop group, that took a little sideway and also produced disco. I must say that the disco here is really rock-disco. But rock-disco the way we like it! You know the song cause it has been covered million times before and after.
But I must say that I enjoy this 1979 version the most. The Space-Kudu re-edit cuts out most of the male vocals. He can't sing! The song also gets extended and extended to the max. Lovely slow-mo disco rock for those times in front of the fireplace!

Super atmospheric space-disco track, just listen to the bubbling underlying groove of the re-edit. This is space-disco with a superb disco bassline. Brian Bennett's lp 'Voyage, A journey into discoid funk' from 1978 is one of the best albums of its genre. I do prefer the Space-Kudu re-edit to the original, though. Almost 9 minutes long.

But be warned, it's really good Afro-disco! The lyrics are a bit funny though. Think he is talking about women!
James Bradley - I'm in too deep [Space-Kudu's break re-edit] Actually this Space-Kudu re-edit is totally different than the original song. I took the songs break and made it a song on it's own. Very atmospheric and kinda slow soul/funk. The original was already very cool and pretty fast. So here is the Space-Kudu slow, cosmic-disco version!
Love and Kisses - I've found love [Space-Kudu's cut 'n paste re-edit] Love and Kisses is one of my favourite disco acts. Alec R. Costandinos really made some cool discotunes. Here I took the middle instrumental part of the song and made it a song on its own again. Sorry Alec, but I took out all your singing as well! This is almost trance disco, in the way it takes you higher and higher on the dancefloor!
Space-Kudu - Mother's little helper [Stereo Total medley] I re-edited three songs here into one. That's way I will call this a song of my own. Everybody knows 'Mother's little helper' done by the Rolling Stones. Well they are in here as well. Also Polyphonic Size ans Stereo Total, two groups who have covered the Rolling Stones song, are int this track. Very electro, very nu-wave, very nice!
Zebra - Sequencer disco dance [Space-Kudu re-edit] Space disco at it's very best!
Great driving bassline, superb outer space riffs and a ton of disco! This Space-Kudu re-edit gives the song a bit more energy and less vocals. Massive space disco for ya!

Originally this 'Cosmopolitan Wave' track takes the entire A-side of the same titled album from Estrak Lancios aka Bernard Estardy aka Universal Energy. I cut and re-edited the entire track into one dark, mysterious and also very groovey space disco smash. Personally I think that the album from Estrak Lancios from 1979 is one of the best albums ever made. Not entirely disco all the way but it's perfect to put on your recordplayer before going to sleep. Very French, very spacey!

One of my favourite songs of all times is this Nina Simone reinterpretation of Frank Sinatra's big hit 'My Way'. But be warned this one is a big bongo and hipshaking version. I re-edited two versions of her song into one Space-Kudu re-edit. I always thought the original song was too short, so the final re-edit version clocks in at almost nine minutes. Perfect for singing under the shower!

Eddy Rosemond - Funk it [space-kudu repeat re-edit]

Great boogie/funk track from Eddy Rosemond from 1979. It's peaktime discofunk time with this superb piece of music. The singing of Eddy reminds me of Sylvester. But don't worry, it ain't no High-NRG disco! No, you probably recognize some part of this song, cause it has been sampled many times. I can't recall right now any names, but comment me if you know. The Space-Kudu re-edit splits the song up into a few pieces. The looped beginning is actually only a few seconds long in the original track, but it makes a great song on it's own. But don't worry Eddy is gonna sing as well!

Last time I was listening to the Bridge over troubled water album from Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel and heard 'Cecelia'. Instantly I wanted to do a re-edit of that song. And I must say that I really like the Space-Kudu re-edit version 2. So here it is for ya'll. I turned the original slightly into an afro-cosmic tune without lyrics. Just some vocal sounds from Paul and Art.

Cissy Houston - You're the fire [space-kudu re-edit]

Cissy Houston's 'You're the fire' is one hell of a track. Especially when taken out most of the original parts and only leaving the pumping bassline and looping some vocal bits. And that's what I did here. Perfect track for those peaktime disco madness, very trancey as well. From the album with the cool name 'Step aside for a lady" from 1980.

Munich Machine - Love to love you baby [space-kudu re-edit]

Giorgio Moroder's Munich Machine takes on Donna Summer's great hit 'Love to love you baby' from 1975 and turns it into a short German disco track. The Space-Kudu re-edit given here makes one long track from the two seperate versions Munich Machine made in 1977. Too bad the Munich Machine versions don't have a very nice slow breakdown like the original has. So I fixed one up for this re-edit.

Amanda Lear - Blood & Honey [space-kudu dub re-edit]

Who doesn't know Amanda Lear?! She was huge in the 70's and early 80's. Born as a boy and made into a woman by the generous Salvador Dali. Hence the name...A Man Da Lea r. But all this is questionable due to the fact that David Bowie says he put the rumour in the world that Amanda is a transsexual. Anyway...she looks like a shemale to me! The Space-Kudu re-edit of one of her big songs 'Blood & Honey' turns the original into a big bass disco dub. With here and there some vocalparts.

Jean Yves Labat - Orbit [space-kudu re-edit]

'Orbit' is taken from the album 'Underwater Electronic Orchestra' made in 1976 by Jean Yves Labat. The album is very much in demand with collectors. Personally I think that 'Orbit' is the standout track of this album. The only thing is that it is a very, very short. And that only at the ending the beat and bassline flow into the track. This to me is reason enough to make a little re-edit of this 'Orbit' track. It sounds like a nice slow space-rock track with some low funk inside.

From 1978 comes this trancey disco record. It's kinda rare and not so well known but don't miss out on this one! It fits perfect into a Space-Kudu re-edit...it's space disco, a bit techno and has a hell of a pumping bassline. Too bad Elias Rahbani didn't make lots and lots more disco tracks. This one really is a hidden gem. The re-edit does again take out most of the lyrics cause it just is all about the melody on this one....and the beat!

Giants - Everything is alright [space-kudu re-edit]

Great, great song from the Giants' only album from 1979. This group really makes a different kind of rock-disco tracks. Most of the albums cuts don't really appeal to me. It sounds way to much like bad German rock from the 70's or like Meatloaf....ugh! Luckily this "Everything is alright' hits the right spots. And after cutting out most of the slow rock parts it really is a great partytune! So consider it as an instrumental version of the original. But with the cool vocal parts left intact. One of my favourites!

Oh and they also co-wrote 'Hills from Katmandu' from Tantra. Can imagine that they wrote the vocal parts of it!

A special Space-Kudu re-edit this time. Originally I only had three short pieces of this great soul/funk song from Bilalian Creation from 1983. But I liked them a lot. So after some cut and paste work...here is the Space-Kudu re-edit that is actually close to the original. Just some small adjustments and a different second part of the song. But at least a complete song from beginning till the end. No more listening to one minute soundclips. So this one is more for myself, because I lost the original 12" I had. And ofcourse...FOR THE CHILDREN!

Shelly Mann - Daktari [space-kudu fast re-edit]

Wow! Just another great childhood memory! Who wouldn't wanted to be on that show...playing with crosseyed lions and little monkeys? But how did that tiger get in Africa? Anyway...Shelly Mann made a perfect soundtrack to this tv-show. One of the outstanding tracks is the very short title track 'Daktari'. I didn't had much time to make a long re-edit of the song, so here is a twice as long re-edit, this time. But be warned...it's a big hectic track, with full on percussion and heavy funk squeezed in it.

This hyper disco track with it's wild drums and big horns is a perfect dancefloor mayham in the A.M. Originally from 1979 and ten minutes long. But the original first half of the song is very slow, only at the second part of the song all hell break loose. And that's just the part I used in this re-edit, looping it into a nine minute Space-Kudu hyperdisco re-edit. Just give it a go!

Christian Bruhn - Katastrophe [space-kudu re-edit]

*Special Request*

'Katastrophe' is a track from the soundtrack of the cartoonseries 'Sindbad'. Originally the track is called 'Es Sieht Schlimm Aus - Katastrophe'. Christian Bruhn, who we all know from great soundtracks as 'Timm Thaler', 'Captain Future' and 'Heidi' produced this little gem. It was thrown to my attention by one of you readers! So thanks for that. And in future if you have a track that you want to be re-edited by me, just send it to me. Just as long it isn't totally crap! Anyway 'Katastrophe' is one hell of a track. Originally only 2 minutes long but it has a lot of dark funk in it. The Space-Kudu re-edit expands this funky little number up to 7 minutes!

Oh and I love the ending of the song....spinning around and around and around!!!

Chromium - Time Traveler [space-kudu re-edit]

From the one of the members of The Art of Noise, comes this space disco track. Trevor Horn produced this beautiful LP called 'Star to Star' by the band 'Chromium' in 1979. It's kinda like RAH Band's 'Clouds across the moon' in the way that it's about an interplanetary spaceflight. But the comparison stops right there. 'Time Traveler' is way more dancefloor orientated and has some nice beats. The other tracks on the LP are also worth listening too. Perhaps later on another Space-Kudu re-edit from 'Chromium', who knows!

This one is a special Space-Kudu re-edit! I've got this Daniele Baldelli mixtape from one of his live sets. Probably made in 2005? Anyway on it is this really great cosmic house - afrodisco track. I think the track on the mixtape are two or three songs mixed together, and I have no clue what they are. So if you know, you can comment me on this!

It's the perfect beach track for me...but it was only 2 minutes long on the original mixtape. I made a beginning to the song and an end. The middle part is a real cut and paste of the two minutes. I was surprised it ended up being 9 minutes long. Maybe a bit too long but i just love the voice of this African woman chanting on top of this prototype housebeat.

Toni van Duyne was one of the first in the cosmic disco genre, with her song 'Cosmic dancer' from 1977. The rest of her same titled album is more disco, but still very good. So this pick of the bunch got an little Space-kudu re-edit. It's a very atmospheric spacey track, but with almost all disco tracks from the 70's; they always have a slow part, that takes the energy away for a bit. Hence the birth of my re-edit series.
Cutting it out and making it a nowadays dancefloor bomb!

J.P. Massiera & Bernard Torelli - Quelquepart Quelqun [space-kudu re-edit]

The holy grail of cosmic disco is J.P. Massiera and Bernard Torelli's lp 'Turn radio on' from 1976. So probably a lot of bearded people will not like my little re-edit I did from one of the album's songs called 'Quelquepart Quelqun'. The re-edit is a 9 minute long version of this very short song. It's a girl doing some sort of mantra over this drummers beat. So yes it's not a computer so here and there the beats are not perfectly lined up. But that doesnt spoil the fun of spinning around in circles while listening to this French mantra song. The funky parts are left out of this re-edit. It only took away the speed of the song/re-edit.

The Dolly Parton song 'Potential new boyfriend' is from 1983 but more than 20 years later it still sounds fresh. Actually it sounds to me like today's cosmic disco/balearic tracks. The Space-Kudu re-edit mixes the original and the instrumental song into one perfect bliss, if i say so myself. I took out the chorus cause that is the only part that sounds a bit corny. So only slow disco-rock beats, swirping guitars and a classy lady!

A very special Space-Kudu re-edit for all of you out there! The very rare and very expensive 7" of Rose Merryl is up for the taking. Rose Merryl's "Cosmic Dance" is the b-side of "In Space" from 1976. You might know Rose Merryl as Rose Laurens as well...Anyway "Cosmic Dance" is the perfect space-rock/cosmic-funk track, and way ahead of its time. The re-edit just adds length to the track cause cutting it up would be a crime. So no longer a 3 minute song anymore! Also it's the first time "Cosmic Dance" can be downloaded on the Internet as we speak.............P.S. I found this 7" in the 'one-euro-bin'!!! compaired to the prizes they ask on the web, I got lucky! Diggin' does work!

John Miles - Slow Down [space-kudu re-edit disco dance]

Taken from his 1976 album 'Stranger in the City' is this pure disco-rock gem, called "Slow Down". Re-edited more the instrumental parts so that it takes a while before John starts singing. But what a great tune. Perfect for those empty dancefloor moments because people will be running to the dancefloor to shake there booties on this one! I didn't expected John Miles to do disco, after all the album contains the 'Stranger in the city' song. Which has been re-edited very nicely by Pilooski. But what a different style that one is! Anyway my view on John Miles has changed for the better....just forgave him for his 'Music is my first love' song, which is utterly crap!

This re-edit contains two songs by Wild Fantasy; 'Africa' and 'Jungle drums'. I blended them together to get this afro-disco sound. Both songs are pretty much the same when taking out the vocal parts. If you don't know that it are two songs, you would think it's a remix of 'Jungle drums'. Wild Fantasy's album 'Jungle drums' is from 1978 and contains both songs used in this Space-Kudu re-edit.

This track from Gilla is originally from a group called 'The American Breed', who recorded it in 1967 as a rock 'n roll song. Gilla transformed it into singalong disco and I transformed it into a more disco-rock song. Taking out the singalong chorus...only to come back at the very end of the re-edit.

A bit of HI-NRG disco this time. 'The night they invented love' is a great disco song in the line of Donna Summer's 'I feel love' and Crystal & the Team's 'Won't you dance with me'. Pretty rare and hard to get hold of this song that is. Only a few released in 1979 on promo single, but you can find the song as well on Noel's LP called 'Is there more to life than dancing'. Originally there are a lot more vocals on the record, but to give the song a more modern feel, I took out most of the lyrics. Still the song is pretty long; 9 minutes.

Mistral - Starship 109 [space-kudu re-edit long version]

Beautiful song about space travelling from 1978 and if you have the time, you should really check out the videoclip of 'Starship 109' on Youtube. I wish all the videoclips would be like that one! Marjan Schattelijn, the singer of this song, has some nice sexy slow moves. 'Mistral' is a band formed by two dutch producers of which one of them is an ex-member of 'Shocking Blue'. And you know them from the hit 'Venus', which was later covered by Bananarama. 'Mistral' had a few hits in Holland, but all the songs have different vocalists. The song 'Jamie' was there first hit in 1977. 'Starship 109' is a good space-disco burner on the slow tip, with its flamenco chill-out style and great vocals.

'It's all in the eye of the Demon God'. Well any kind of disco with this type of lyrics, is more than welcome to this blog. 'The Intergalactic Orchestra' is actually 'The Warlords' or 'The Immortals', whom you might know from there hit single 'The Ultimate Warlord'. The song 'Demon God' is from the LP called 'Super Nova' and was produced in 1979. The song itself has a great bassline and moves through your speakers like a train. But it just needed a re-edit because some parts were too blend or too crappy disco for me.

Yes! today we have a double feature with 'Nostromo'. Two tracks from his "Alien' 7" from 1979. Especially 'Theme from Alien' is a very spooky slice of space disco. I used the short version of the song and re-edited into almost 9 minutes of disco horror. And yes...it is from the 1979 movie 'Alien'! The other track 'Around the world in 80 seconds' is a super funky instrumental disco/funk track, and also not to be missed! We want more!!!

Don't know much about 'Mayordom' except that this track 'Disconnected' is from there only produced and very rare, untitled album. Too bad, because they made some good space-disco tracks. Cerrone (Brigade Mondaine Vice Squad Soundtrack) - Experience [space-kudu re-edit]

Bit of an odd one this is. Usually Cerrone is known for his great french disco tracks. This however is more on the Hi-Energy funky side of disco. The track 'Experience' comes from the soundtrack of the french 1979 movie; 'Brigade Mondaine'. On this soundtrack you can also find his hit 'Give me Love'. "Experience' is a very very short track on the soundtrack, so I made it just that bit longer.

Nice slice of disco from the Jupiter Sunset Band from 1977. This Space-Kudu re-edit re-blend is the complete B-side of there LP 'Disco Rhapsody'. The B-side contains the following tracks; Disco Rhapsody, Shadow Of Doubt, Too Bad and Disco Rhapsody. The only thing is that the re-edit throws all the songs in a different order and some parts have been taken out. What you get is what you hear!

A very rare but oh so nice piece of space-rock or space-disco. It doesn't matter what you call it, it ticks all the boxes. Sauveur Mallia is also known as Arpadys or Voyage. This 'Space People' track is coming from his solo album 'Spatial & Co Vol. 2' from 1979. Originally a very short track, in which only at the ending the beats come in. The spooky atmosphere is being built up and up in this track. But I wanted to hear the beats more often, so I know I am not supposed to cut this track into pieces, but i did. The Space-Kudu re-edit does change the feel of the track slightly but it also takes it more to the dancefloor. Ah well...I love it!

Paradise Frame has made the perfect vocoder disco track ever! Produced in 1978 and very hard to get. 'Paradise Theme' sounds like today's chill-out music and a has the same feel as 'Whispering Wind' by Moby. Normally I don't go for vocoder songs but this one is very very well done. The song has a very emotional feeling because of it. I re-edited into a much longer version, because the original was a bit short to my likings. Good music you just want to go on forever, not 3 minutes!

Yes, we all know this one from 'Toto', but this is the french version and it's as solid as the original one. It's just a little bit unclear who made this version here. Cause I have two names for you; Boule Noire and Dwight Druik. Both versions sound the same to me. But Boule Noire isn't Dwight Druik. Anyway, if you know the answer of who is singing in this Space-Kudu re-edit, let me know. 'Georgy Porgy' is a great track and the perfect song to sing when in the shower, at work or doing household stuff. And you can do it in french now!

Here is another great track from Alec R. Costandinos, part two in his Space-Kudu re-edit series. The re-edit consists of acts I and II from the 'Romeo & Juliet' LP, produced in 1978. Just like the 'Hunchback of the Notre Dame' re-edit, I've cut out most of the vocal parts. The original song tells the story of Romeo and Juliet, but that's a bit much for me. So left are the great disco bits.

From Alan Parsons "I Robot' LP from 1976 comes this very nice slow prog-rock/balearic track. Not to worry it's still a nice addition to your record collection, because Alan Parson is always on top of quality recordings. After 'Mammagamma' and 'I Robot' is 'I wouldn't want to be like you' my favourite Parsons track. For a lazy sunday afternoon or on the beach, it's even my favourite! The Space-Kudu re-edit extends the original 03:22 minutes into a more than 7 minute pleasure.

Escape into Freedom - The Chase [space-kudu re-edit]

This track you might recognize from a certain man called Giorgio Moroder. 'Escape into Freedom' did his own version of Moroder's masterpiece 'The Chase' in 1986. It's a classic disco track brought into the powerrock era. And it's actually quite good! The man behind this all is Thomas B. Wolpert. Still it needed a Space-Kudu re-edit cause the song didn't had a good flow. So the ending is the beginning and all the strange parts are left out. Now it really sounds almost as perfect as the original version of 'The Chase'.

Meco is famous for his Space movies disco albums. Especially 'Cantina's bar' inspired from the movie 'Star Wars' is a big hit of his. He loves the R2-D2 sound effects a lot! So I cut those out of the Space-Kudu re-edit of 'Moondancer'. Furthermore I turned it into a more instrumental version than the original which is loaded with vocals about space dancing or something. The re-edit really turns it into a hidden cosmic disco track, if I say so myself. 'Moondancer' is from Meco's 'Moondancer' LP from 1979.

Asphalt Jungle is produced by Keith Errol, who is actually Keith Benson, who is a member of Salsoul Orchestra and MFSB. Complicated? Not at all! Anyway...'Freakin' Time' is an allround boogie classic. A little bit of a hidden gem produced in 1979. The Space-Kudu re-edit gives the boogie a little bit more room by adding more time to the track.

Paul Zaza & Carl Zittrer - Prom Night [space-kudu re-edit]

The Space-Kudu re-edit this time is Paul Zaza and Carl Zittrer's 'Prom Night', from the original motion picture score 'Prom Night' from 1980. The re-edit contains part 1 and part 2 of the original song 'Prom Night'. The movie was one of the first slasher movies with scream queen 'Jamie Lee Curtis'. The first time I watched the movie 'Prom Night', I was hooked by the music from the movie. Only thing is that the soundtrack was primarily released in Japan only. Had to search hard for this one. The re-edit is also a pitch or two slower than the original, because it was a bit too fast disco for me.

'The Hunchback of the Notre Dame' completely done in disco style by Alec R. Costandinos. Great novelty but when the talking begins I am leaving the dancefloor. So cutting out all the vocal parts makes this track much better. And...a lot shorter as well! The second part of this re-edit ends the song into a nice relaxing mood. Alec R. Costandinos we know as producer of bands like 'Love and Kisses', 'Sphinx' and 'Sumeria'. He is also known for tracks like Cerrone's 'Love in C minor' and 'Synergy'. 'The Hunchback of the Notre Dame' is from 1978 and consists of several songs blend together.

Patricia Harris - Heaven is in the backseat of my Cadillac [space-kudu re-edit]

Originally 'Heaven is in the backseat...' is from the band 'Hot Chocolate'. A really great song done by a really great band. Nonetheless this version from Patricia Harris, from 1984, is pure Italo-disco heaven. It's funky and totally 80's influenced. It just needed a Space-Kudu re-edit! There are always some cheesy bits in Italo-disco, so I cut those out and made it more dancefloor friendly. Don't worry there are a lot of vocal parts left!

Ferrara - Love attack [space-kudu re-edit]

John Ferrara made this beautiful disco record, Disconet remixed it and I re-edited it! You might know Ferrara from Charanga 76 with there super duper track 'Music Trance'. If not...not to worry. Soon I will re-edit 'Music Trance' and post it here. Back to Ferrara's track 'Love attack', it is a very powerful and energetic track from 1979. I took out some moaning and groaning bits out of the Disconet remix and re-edited the rest.

Today I have for you a little funky and oh so cheesy disco song, everybody knows from there childhood. Ottawan also did 'D.I.S.C.O.', which was also a lot of fun, but not really cool to play out. Well this re-edit I did, contains the english and the french version of the song. So you can sing in both languages now. It's just for fun!

Free Life - Dance Fantasy [space-kudu re-edit]

'Dance Fantasy' is a funky discotrack from 1979 by 'Free Life', with some nice guitar parts and cool cosmic disco sounds. The vocals are done by Philip Bailey, who you might know from a band called 'Earth, Wind & Fire'. Other than this 12" Free Life didn't produced any more songs.

Pete Shelley - Telephone operator [space-kudu re-edit lumberjack version]

A nice slice of 80's dance music, this is. Pete Shelley is the frontman of the british band 'The Buzzcocks'. But here we have him totally for ourselves. 'Telephone operator' is originally a 3 minute song, but here I used the dub version and re-edited into a proper length song. The re-edit I did was necessary because the original dub version was a medley of songs mixed together. Oh and you can hear where Alan Braxe used the sample from for his 'Lumberjack' track. I guess!

Disco Dream & the Androids - Dream Machine [space-kudu re-edit long version]

One of my all time favourite disco tracks is 'Dream Machine' from Disco Dream & the Androids. The way this song builts and builts is amazing. A long time ago, when I went to my first techno-party, Laurent Garnier played Donna Summer's 'I Feel Love' during a wild technosession. That song made all the little kiddies jump up and down. Well imagine what damage 'Dream machine' would do during such an evening! It's pure disco-techno bliss. So close your eyes and dance all 16 minutes long to this re-edited masterpiece.

Ruby Winters - Treat me right [space-kudu re-edit long version]

Today a little funk gem from Ruby Winters. 'Treat me right' is the b-side of her 7" single 'Come to me' from 1978. Actually it never was a hit for her. Well none of her songs were big hits, to be honest. So we are gonna make a difference and turn up the volume...cause she deserves just that! The re-edit takes the song from 4 minutes up to 8 minutes. So we can slow dance just that little bit longer!
